i'm not sure of how many people have sam's club memberships, but the prints there are really cheap and you can pick them up in store even at sizes up to 20 by 30! that's who i'm going to be using for my AA coming up. :3
I was curious; are there any good but cheap print services (online and local) out there? I've found a few, but I was wondering if there were any specific ones that particularly catch one's eye.
Good question! I’ve been working on a compilation post for this sort of thing, but I was waiting until I had a few more entries to publish it. I personally have had good experiences with winkflash, which has fantastic prices for 4x6s and okay prices for everything else. (They have a bit of an issue with trimming accurately, though, so ideally if you order from them you’ll want to make sure everything important in the image isn’t within a quarter inch of the border.)
I’ve heard good things about Catprint.com, PsPrint.com, and Fireball Printing, but I have not yet tried them myself. As far as local print shops go, your best bet is digging into the phone book and stopping by some shops local to you. If you explain that you’re an artist who sells at shows they’ll probably be willing to show you some print samples, and from there you can decide if you’d like to use their services. Chain stores like Costco or Kinkos can do alright, but not great, prints, so depending on the exact quality you’re looking for those can be okay as well.
